Wine & Dine Your Feline Valentine
Looks like your Valentine is the perfect date—four legs, fluffy fur, and the most smoochable cheeks around! To help you celebrate your sweetheart in style, we’ve put together some special recipes so you can treat them to a fancy feline feast.
Catnip Cosmo
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp dried catnip leaves
- ¼ cup unsalted chicken bone broth (no garlic, onion, or additives)
- Juice from 1 can of tuna in water
- Ice cubes (optional)
- Plastic martini glass (optional, but fancy!)
How to Make It:
- Pour a small amount of tuna juice onto a plate and dip the rim of the martini glass to coat.
- On another plate, spread the dried catnip and press the rim of the glass into it to create a catnip rim garnish.
- In a bowl (or a cocktail shaker if you're feeling extra fancy), mix the bone broth and remaining tuna juice.
- Add ice cubes to the prepared glass, pour in your mocktail, and sprinkle a little extra catnip on top for a touch of elegance.
Surf & Turf Paté
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup cooked lean ground beef (plain, no seasoning)
- 1 unsalted sardine (packed in water, drained)
- 2 tbsp plain pumpkin purée—not pie filling!
- 1 tsp water
- 1 tsp dried catnip (optional, for that gourmet flair)
How to Make It:
- In a medium-sized bowl, use a fork to thoroughly mash the sardine until it reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency. Add the cooked ground beef and mix well, ensuring the two ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Next, stir in the pumpkin purée and gradually add the water, mixing continuously until the texture is soft and well combined. If needed, adjust the consistency by adding a little more water.
- Once everything is evenly mixed, transfer the meal onto your fanciest plate. Lightly sprinkle a bit of catnip on top as a garnish.
